The FIB1-1000 is a compact unit designed to convert 1000BaseT Ethernet to either 1000BaseSX or LX fibre. The FIB1-1000 can utilise single and multimode fibre optic cabling over 10, 30 and 50km. The main advantage of using this unit is the fact that the customer can easily convert fibre to ethernet using their existing hardware with very little installation time or interruption to their network.
The converters can be used in a stand alone manner and can also be located in the FRM-301 media converter chassis. See G.703/E1, X.21 and Ethernet Fibre Converter Chassis.From this chassis up to 16 converters can be housed and managed.
