The FIB1-E1 is a cost effective compact solution for extending 2Mbps G.703 E1 services over fibre optic cabling. The FIB1-E1 has 1 G.703 interface that can be presented as either a pair of BNC connectors or an RJ-45 interface. The fibre optic port can be supplied with either ST or SC connectors and versions are available for both multi and singlemode optics. Various distances are supported, up to 2Km on multimode fibre and 120Km on singlemode fibre. WDM (wave division multiplexing) versions are also available that allow full duplex bi-directional transmission over a single core of singlemode fibre.
The modems can be used in a stand alone manner and can also be located in the FRM-301 media converter chassis. See G.703/E1, X.21 and Ethernet Fibre Converter Chassis. From this chassis up to 16 modems or converters can be housed and managed.
