The FIB-422/ST is a low cost, compact, fibre converter designed to extend RS422 / RS485 transmissions up to 2Km over multimode fibre optic cabling. As the FIB-422/ST uses fibre optic cabling this provides high security as well as being immune to EMI / RFI, variations in ground potentials and lightning strikes. The FIB-422/ST operates at layer 1 of the OSI specification and is completely data transparent. The FIB-422/ST untilises 4 screw terminals for transmit and receive and ST connectors to access the fibre.
