10/100BaseTX to 100BaseFX with OAM
The FRM220-10/100A is a 10/100BaseTX to 100BaseFX fibre optic media converter. Available with multi or singlemode optics and with a choice of fibre optic connectors - ST, SC or FC/PC. The FRM220-10/100A is fully compliant with IEEE802.3ah OAM (Operations, Administration and Maintenance or Ethernet in the first mile) and is ideal for deployments that require a high degree of diagnostic capability.
The OAM functions enable a remote FRM220-10/100A to be configured and managed from a central location in-band across the fibre link. OAM functionality can greatly reduce maintenance costs by diagnosing problems centrally and negating the need for engineers to attend remote locations.
The FRM220-10/100A has 2 10/100 RJ45 ports enabling the connection of 2 end devices. The converter can be configured to prioritise traffic on a per port basis and has a wealth of other advanced features such as bandwidth throttling and statistical reporting.
