Overview

The ST3200H features a large 7" touchscreen in a compact handheld instrument which  is used for the commissioning, certifying, and fault finding of fibre optic networks.  The 3200H is ideal for use in campus environments where both single and multimode fibre are installed.

The  intuitive touchscreen provides an easy interface for engineers making it simple to locate damaged fibres, contaminated or damaged connectors, or failed splices.  The unit features two modes of operation - Auto - Single button operation, and  Expert - User may fine tune settings to highlight/hide  specific characteristics.

The results may be displayed in standard graphical form, in a user friendly event map, or as a csv type table.  A whopping 2Gb of internal storage allows for >50,000 results to be stored.

All events are measured, annotated, saved, and exported as an industry standard SOR file that is compliant to GR196 Telcordia standards.

The SOR file can be imported into the Trace Viewing program where analysis can be performed, and test results can be saved as a PDF report.

The ST3200H features a versatile Optical Power Meter which can display results in dBm and watts.  It is factory calibrated for use at 850nm, 1300nm, 1310nm and 1550nm.  It also displays the received tone frequency to assist in fibre identification.

 

 

 

 

 

Laser Source

The 3200H features singlemode and multimode  laser sources which operates at selectable wavelengths (MM 850nm, 1300nm, SM 1310nm, 1550nm).  The source can be modulated at 270Hz, 330Hz, 1kHz, 2kHz or continuous wave.  When paired with a suitable power meter it can assist with fibre identification.

The 3200H is also a fully featured Ethernet structured cabling tester.  Ping tests allow basic connectivity to be verified.  The IP Scan feature will detect all responsive hosts on the local subnet.   PPPoE tests can be used to verify remote connectivity.
