Contact Closure over Fibre

Contact closure over fiber involves using an optical fiber cable to connect two points, and then using a contact closure switch to open or close the contact between the two points. It is possible to extend the status of relay outputs or switches over single or multi-mode fibre cable.  These are often used for door entry systems, security barriers and alarm status indications.
