Overview

The MW8036TSN-4XGF-24GF-8GT layer 3 10G TSN industrial Ethernet switch supports 4 x 10G SFP+ ports, 24 x 1G SFP ports, and 8 x 1G RJ45 ports.

In addition to providing a rich variety of layer 3 routing protocols including static, RIP and OSPF for both IPv4 and IPv6 the MW8036TSN incorporates 'Time Sensitive Networking' features to facilitate a low latency, highly resilient  and deterministic traffic flows via features such as:-

Timing and Synchronization

The IEEE802.1AS standard aka 'Generalised Precision Timing Protocol or gPTP' provides for distribution of sub-microsecond time synchronization information.

Low latency transmission

The IEEE standards 802.1Qbv/bu are quality of services (QoS) mechanisms designed to make Ethernet more deterministic. By using a 'time aware scheduler' time critical traffic can be given priority over that of background traffic.

Path selection and fault tolerance

The IEEE 802.1CB Frame Replication and Elimination for Reliability (FRER) protocol transmits duplicate frames over multiple paths, to enable redundancy for applications that cannot tolerate lost packets.

The MW8036TSN-4XGF-24GF-8GT is an industrial grade unit with a fanless design. The unit is rated to IP40 and has a wide operating temperature range of -40℃ ~ + 75℃.

Secure management and configuration is provided by HTTPS, SNMPv3 and SSH. The MISCOM7208-TSN provides a full suite of advanced configuration options for industry standard protocols such as 802.1Q VLANs, QoS, MSTP, ERPS, LACP and IGMP. Access control can be provisioned via 802.1x and AAA functions via RADIUS or TACAS+.

The combination of high bandwidth interfaces, Layer 3 architecture and TSN components places the MW8036 at the heart of any modern industrial process control network.
