Argus F240 GPON/XGS-PON & AON Handheld Tester
Lanode is pleased to announce the launch of the new ARGUS® F240 fibre optic testset from Intec, Europe's leading manufacturer of cutting edge telecommunication test equipment.
The ARGUS® F240 is a compact handheld GPON, XGS-PON and AON test and measurement tool specifically designed to enable network operators quickly deploy, manage and maintain the latest passive and active last mile fibre networks. With its robust and compact design, the ARGUS® F240 is optimally suited to the requirements of daily field use. The focus is on touchscreen operation with the familiar ARGUS® menu navigation. The ARGUS® F240 tests on GPON, XGS-PON and AON interfaces. The selective 5 fold power meter can be inserted into an existing PON link in through mode and thus enables the simultaneous exact determination of the optical levels on the different downstream (OLT) and upstream (ONT) wavelengths for GPON, XGS-PON and a video overlay via five separate filters. This makes it possible to detect any other transmitters (so-called alien ONT) that may be on the line. In addition, the PON ID can be read from the PLOAM message. The ARGUS® F240 can perform a complete ONT simulation with IP and performance tests up to 10Gbit/s.
The ARGUS® F240 also has many other functions such as WLAN analyzers, triple play tests such as VoIP, IPTV and data tests in the form of upload/download, ping and traceroute as well as iperf or high-performance IP speed tests directly on the fibre or Ethernet. The SFP slot can be used, among other things, for Active Ethernet (AON), as is often the case in FTTH installations. In addition, a Fibre Inspection Tool can be connected via USB, which detects scratches, dirt and defects on optical fibres and displays them as a video image and in tabular form.
In summary the ARGUS® F240 is the complete testset to aid in the deployment of next generation FTTx networks.
