  • Pay as-you-grow architecture
  • Supported services: 100GbE, 400GbE
  • Standard MSA pluggable modules
  • Integrates  mux/demux, EDFA and optical switch
  • Low power consumption

Overview

The PL-4000G is a modular and cost-effective high capacity solution for rolling out 400GbE and 100GbE services, or increasing existing network capacity. The device has twelve 400G pluggable uplink optical modules, delivering up to 4.8T capacity. The PL-4000G Supports oFEC (OpenROADM standard) and CFEC (OIF-ZR standard).

The PL-4000G integrates mux/demux, EDFA and OSW and delivers the entire optical layer. This flexible solution enables pay-as-you-grow architecture. It also meets market demands for low power consumption, rack space savings and reduction in the overall solution CAPEX and OPEX by increasing network capacity.

Open Interoperability

The device provides full demarcation point between the service and the DWDM network. It is interoperable with any third party switch or router, providing full visibility and performance monitoring of both the optical transport layer and the service interfaces.

Performance Monitoring

As the scale and capacity of data that needs to interconnect between colocations grow, internet exchanges and data centers rapidly increase fibre and bandwidth on each link. The health of the DWDM fibre link and the traffic it carries must be monitored, including alerts. PacketLight’s embedded high-level performance monitoring (PM) solution provides full visibility on the fibre infrastructure and health of the transported data.

Connectivity between data centers is becoming more important, and providers are depending on a reliable, secure, high-capacity DWDM network backbone that is easy to operate, maintain, and grow.

Applications

  • Long-haul networks of up to 4,000 km
  • High capacity networks
  • 400G links to bolster existing DWDM infrastructure
  • Last mile access/aggregation CPE for 100/400GbE managed services

Technical Notes

Why AI infrastructure breaks legacy networks...

Artificial intelligence workloads are inherently different from traditional enterprise or consumer traffic. They generate consistent, high-volume, and latency-sensitive flows that stretch conventional architectures beyond their limits.
