Industrial grade serial device servers allow the simple cost effective integration of serial devices into a modern IP / Ethernet. These are widely deployed in IoT (Internet of Things) newtorks. Models are available with support for Modbus, Profibus, Pelco, CANBus and others protocols. Connectivity may be provided directly, via WiFi or LTE mobile data may be used as main carrier or as backup. Feel free to call and speak to one of our engineers.
Serial Servers
Serial servers are used to connect a range of physical devices with serial interfaces (RS232, RS485, RS422) to an IP network. They are especially useful in industrial instrumentation and control applications. These units may be used in pairs (client-server), or as a remote serial port to a networked computer.
WiFi Gateways
WiFi serial server gateways provide wireless connectivity for any device equipped with RS232/485/422 ports. This includes devices with serial console ports which may be managed remotely, or even across the Internet. They may also be used in SCADA networks for telemetry and data collection. Some may be used in pairs without the need for existing wireless facilities and are remarkably easy to deploy.
Serial Device Servers /Fieldbus Gateways
As well as standard serial connections, gateway products also support Industrial protocols, such as Modbus or CANbus. Some Gateways offer huge performance boost by constantly polling the attached devices, known as pre-fetch, and responding immediately to requests from the Master.
CANBus Gateways
Controller Area Network (CAN) was originally conceived for use in the automotive industry as a simple yet robust communications architecture. Now widely used in many process control networks CAN uses a 2 wire bus that supports speeds of up to 5Mbps. Our CAN bus products provide gateway functions enabling the integration of CAN into ModBus and Ethernet networks.
Mobile Backhaul Serial Servers
Backhaul servers provide an easy way to access remote serial devices in locations where broadband is not available. These are especially useful for utility companies who require reliable telemetry information to be fed back to a control centre or an MQTT server. Serial data, digital or relay states as well as ethernet data can be economically accessed via 4G mobile networks.
